Hi there, I'm Daphkar Gourdet. I owe much success to my wise and talented daughter, Kelise. She has helped me create a business plan for Dearkelise, and without her, I couldn't have come this far. Kelise has been a constant source of inspiration for me to become a better mother and strive for excellence. I'm not just a candle maker and sea moss seller but also a future nurse. I have always been passionate about medicine and natural remedies that heal from the inside out. My goal is to take Dearkelise to new heights and achieve success in the name of God.
Now, let us talk about sea moss cleaning!
There is a proper way to clean Jamaican Raw Purple Sea Moss. Purple Sea Moss has a unique cellular structure, making it more challenging to clean than other varieties. The cell wall of this type is thicker and more rigid, which makes it difficult to clean and soften.
To clean Purple Sea Moss effectively, it's best to soak it for an extended period and rinse it multiple times with spring water. This process will help get rid of any debris, sand, or salt that may be present in the moss. Due to its dense-packed structure, it can be challenging to remove all impurities. It's normal for sea moss to have a somewhat oceanic odor, and debris may also be present in the package, so it's essential to rinse the sea moss thoroughly before soaking it. Here are some of the directions I have incorporated. I have also infused the sea moss with organic mango, my favorite.
Sea Moss Preparation:
👉 Thoroughly inspect sea moss for debris. Rinse 3-4 times with lime and cold water.
👉 Place the organic sea moss in a container and fully submerge in spring water. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12-24 hours.
👉 Once the sea moss has hydrated, it will become soft and double in size. Please remove it from the water and put it in a blender. Add water as needed to achieve an applesauce-like consistency. Blend until the desired smoothness is achieved.
👉 After blending, pour the sea moss gel into a container and store it in the refrigerator. The gel can be refrigerated for up to 4 weeks or frozen for three months.
Approximately 1 ounce of Irish moss can make a 16-ounce jar of sea moss gel, making it a cost-effective option.
The video above shows how I make sea moss. Reach out if you need anything. Until next time, have a blessed day, and stay vigilant.
